ok so here is a horrible story
a new guy in the barracks makes a call to genovesi's parents saying he died in a car accident
fast forward two weeks
genovesi come in your room asks your friend for his keys
he stays and smoke a cig with us
he askes if we want to go AWOL with him we said no
gives me the rest of the pack
he leaves with Lt. west and lt. karas and cpl pope
our company commander wakes us up a 2:30 in the morning
takes the roll and notices they are missing
the next morning they still arent back
the flag goes to half mast
me and Mcgraw get pulled aside and told the news
the rest of the batalion goes into the chapel
by then me and McGraw are in tears
the comandants tells us of a horrible car accident
he tells how karas was driving and he saw a deer he swerves
he goes into theit rips off the right side of the car
it flips twice and genovesi and west are thrown out and killed
it hits another tree and takes off the back end and pope is thrown out
the car lands in the middle of the road karas is unconcious
west is soo mangled burnt and deformed he is mistaken for a black man
later the look at his dog tags and find his true identity
Genovesi is barley alive
he dies in the ambulence on the way to the hospitol
Karas is found and is hanging on to life by a thread
Pope has two broken legs a broken arms and ten broken rips
back at the base all acitvitys stop
we are are sickened by this tragety
Genovesi was 20
West was 19
McGraw is devistated by this and so am i
well that sounds like horrible heart wrenching story doesnt well the weird thing about this story is it is true. i lost two friends today and me and rj could have stoped them at any time. i have know both of these great men for three years. i roomed with genovesi for two of them. i will miss him so very much my friends, my roomate, my follow italain, my brother.
